An NTCA Experience is genuinely priceless. That's why it's included in the CTEF Auction. It allows you to experience what makes the tile industry special.
The Tile Industry is unlike any other given its focus on collaboration, installation best practices, methods & standards, welcoming union, and non-union organizations, producers (tile and materials), and young and established members, not to mention a willingness to share perspectives with non-US based entities through Coverings.
Yes, it's about relationships and more. It's relationships based on respect and pride in the most professional level of tile installation expertise, and a desire to lift all those involved.
The National Tile Contractors Association embodies that commitment.
What is an NTCA Experience?
No two NTCA experiences are the same as each one depends on what the NTCA experience host has in mind. It can be a four-day experience, one day, or... It's like any experience in life, uniquely individual and not repeatable. And it involves CTEF, giving the participants a chance to hear firsthand about the CTEF mission, vision, and milestones to educate, train, and certify the tile industry.
In this specific case, NTCA Executive Director Emeritus Joe Tarver and current NTCA Executive Director Bart Bettiga hosted a one-day fishing expedition with Joe's friend and legend “Coon Pop” as the fishing guide. And Brad Denny, Executive Director, joined from CTEF.
NTCA Executive Directors Joe & Bart
Joe Tarver became NTCA executive director in the 1970s and started the emphasis on education. Bart Bettiga took over in 2002. He and Bart make a terrific team as you can see in this 47-minute One-to-One video about the history of the NTCA association!
And here's a TileLetter interview with Joe Tarver:
You can imagine how much you might learn from spending time with either and both of them!
NTCA Experience: NOLA Fishing Event
Steven brought along his friend Joe Levitch from Boise, Idaho. Joe is an active member of NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) and enjoyed hearing about CTEF’s programs to develop and identify Qualified Labor.
Steven and Joe enjoyed discussing the past, present, and future of their businesses with Joe, Bart, and Brad. On more than one occasion Joe and Steven exclaimed over the insights shared stating that those alone were worth the cost of the trip.
Below you see the group posing for a photo.
After fishing, the group enjoyed a night out in the French Quarter and dinner at The Pelican Club.
