Thank you for your interest in becoming a Certified Tile Installer.
Here are the CTI Information Kit resources we promised you:
Bonus: Check out the Frequently Asked Questions, which include information on the costs of the tests and the valuable coupons you receive.
As a reminder, to take the Certified Tile Installer (CTI) exam, you must have at least two years of verifiable experience as the lead installer setting ceramic tile on a full-time basis. Experience as a helper, improver, grouter, finisher, etc., does not qualify toward the two-year requirement.
If you aren't installing tile on a full-time basis, the two-year requirement still applies, and you'll need more total years of installation to make up for the percentage of time not setting tile. Experience is defined as having full responsibility for substrate prep, layout, coordinating with other trades along with properly installing tile and underlayment materials.
Typically, three to five years of tile-setting experience is required to attain the knowledge and skills required.
